I matched into dermatology, consistently one of the hardest specialties to land, and I did it at a top academic program. That means I know what programs read for, what a strong application looks like from the inside, and where applicants quietly lose points.
My own path wasn't a single lane. I earned my MD at Wayne State, spent a dedicated research year at UCSF in inflammatory skin disease, and built a research record of 35+ peer reviewed publications alongside national presentations. I've also helped write board review questions and tutor Step 2 and 3, so I understand the whole picture, exams included, not just the essay.
